DTU

For almost two centuries DTU, Technical University of Denmark, has been dedicated to fulfilling the vision of H.C. Ørsted – the father of electromagnetism – who founded the university in 1829, to develop and create value using the natural sciences and the technical sciences to benefit society. DTU employs around 4,500 people of which approximately half are researchers, including some 1,500 Ph.D. students. Today, DTU is ranked as one of the foremost technical universities in Europe, continues to set new records in the number of publications, and persistently increase and develop its partnerships with industry, and assignments accomplished by DTU’s public sector consultancy.

Department of Mathematics has a staff of about 60, with around 50 being researchers (including 20 Ph.D. students). The research topics includes theoretical as well as applied aspects of mathematics and focus mainly on discrete mathematics, dynamical system, applied functional analysis and geometry.

Key academic personnel

Associate Professor Christian Henriksen is cocoordinator of the Master of Mathematical Modelling and Computation. His reasearch is mainly within dynamical systems.
