Chalmers University of Technology conducts research and education in engineering sciences, architecture, technology-related mathematical sciences, natural and nautical sciences - in close collaboration with industry and society.
Chalmers has about 11,000 students and 2,500 employees. New knowledge and improved technology has characterised Chalmers since its foundation in 1829 in accordance with the testament of William Chalmers, and his motto: Avancez!
Engineering Mathematics has been a major at Chalmers since 1993. Since 2008 there is also a bachelor program in Engineering Mathematics. The School of Mathematical Sciences is the largest department of mathematics in Sweden, hosting several strong research groups, e.g. in analysis, optimization, algebra, probability theory, bioinformatics etc.
The department also has a very large teaching assignment, providing all courses in mathematics and mathematical statistics to all bachelor programs. For further information see http://www.chalmers.se/math/EN/
